ABOUT HEATHER MUELLER,
NURSE PRACTITIONER IN PSYCHIATRY
Heather Mueller is a board certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatric nurse practitioner. She trained at Yale University and has worked in the psychiatric field for over 10 years.
Heather brings a lot of experience to her current practice. She has worked in a variety of settings including inpatient hospital settings, intensive outpatient settings like Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) and Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHPs), outpatient hospital clinics, detox and drug rehab and small private practice. Heather worked at Weill Cornell New York Presbyterian in the Child, Adolescent and Adult outpatient psychiatric department for 5 years and is well-connected to different psychiatric service providers in the New York City metro area.
Heather cares deeply about providing the best possible care to each of her clients. She will work together with you to find the best course of treatment. For some, medication may be the right path; others may prefer talk therapy. Still others may prefer a combination of different treatments. Treatment is not one-size-fits-all and coming to a mutual understanding and agreement on the initial treatment path to pursue is important.
Heather is licensed in New York (NY).

GETTING STARTED
APPOINTMENTS
Most appointments begin as an initial consultation that will last for 60-90 minutes over the course of 1-2 appointments. For children and adolescents, initial consultation also involves the family or guardians for a portion of this time. After the initial consultation, sessions are typically 30-45 minutes depending on the goals of treatment.
HOURS AND SCHEDULING
At this time, all sessions take place by secure video conference. Heather sees clients Monday-Friday for flexible hours that include times during the day and in the evenings.
